About the SRG

It would be fair to say that our passion for cars dates back to our youth; back to a time when we were relatively 'new' and, essentially, so were the cars...

Our enthusiasm never waivered (though we did have to wait for technology to catch up), so in 2017, after more than a decade of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, we began publishing information to the online community.

By sharing knowledge publicly, we have successfully collected even more data, sparked new conversations, published new theories, and crowdsourced additional answers.

Our ongoing mission remains to consolidate, analyze, and audit the information we collect. The SRG is confident that when Knowledge is Shared ... Freely, our cherished cars and the hobby we love will continue to flourish for the generations that follow.

The SRG's interest lies with the first-generation Shelby G.T. cars. We focus on running changes, timelines, engineering and company cars, Shelby American paperwork, FoMoCo records, and A.O. Smith Plastics' role in the the program.

Acknowledgements

The Shelby American Automobile Club - for saving and preserving the original paperwork from Shelby American over the last 40+ years. The SRG would especially like to thank Greg Kolasa, Vince Liska, and Dave Mathews for their direct assistance.

And more importantly -- the caretakers of these automobiles - for their effort and expense in preserving these cherished pieces of automotive history, and for sharing photos and paperwork associated with their Shelby GTs.
